While it may not be the biggest project, it still holds a special place in my heart!
Aiming to create a truly inclusive learning app, Mambio’s goal is helping young children with or without learning disabilities to make their first steps into the world of mathematics.
As the lead artist on board I was able to develop Mambio’s visual identity, interfaces, character animations and much more.
It was fascinating to figure out the rules of designing for people with special needs. Not being able to rely on text cues as well as having to include possible visual- or motor impairments into my designs gifted me with the opportunity to rethink digital interaction and usability on a broader scale.
Character Creation
For the first time in my career I was serving as the project’s only character designer. It felt extra rewarding to let those creatures grow from first stroke to the final animated form.
Animation
By using the animation software “Spine 2D” I was able to transport complex 2D animation effects like mesh deform into our UNITY game engine.
